Dear Parent(s):
Imagine Schools is implementing a pandemic influenza response plan to ensure the health and safety of our school community should the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus appear in our area. We continue to monitor this situation closely and remain in contact with local health agencies.
To reduce the risk for transmission of the influenza virus, we stress the importance of keeping students/staff at home if they are exhibiting any of the following signs of illness:
-Fever of 100 degrees or higher accompanied by cough and or sore throat
-Other symptoms may include fatigue, body ache, headache, vomiting, and diarrhea
Any student/staff member attending school with these symptoms will be sent home immediately.
For the safety of your child and our community:
-Please do not send ill children to school or day care.
-Teach all family members to wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water.
-Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or sneeze/cough in the inside of the elbow/sleeve.
-Avoid contact with people who are ill.
The following measures will be taken in the school for both students and staff:
-Students having a fever of 100 or higher and signs of respiratory illness, cough and/or sore throat, will be isolated from others.
-Students will be asked to wear a mask if in the clinic with the above symptoms.
-Parents will be called and must pick up their child immediately.
-Excluded students/staff must have a written note from a physician, which includes a specific date on which they may return to school.
Imagine Schools is being proactive to prevent the spread of illness among students and staff and we will share any new information with you as it becomes available. When calling in your child’s absence, please leave information regarding their specific symptoms.
Sincerely,
Imagine Schools
